FUSELAGE ARRIVAL
Christmas present arrived. It is a much larger box than I expected and also very heavy so have adequate help available on delivery. It also has a whole lot of parts, I see now why it is expensive.
Unloading the box. It arrived in excellent shape. Van's does a great job in crating. Be prepared to dispose of a lot of paper.
It seems almost obligatory to put the top on to see what it looks like. It does indeed start to reveal the large size of the plane.
The arrival day coincided with our EAA Chapter 23 Christmas open house. It was my last meeting as EAA Chapter President. It has been a wonderful couple of years that included the B-17 Tour and a wonderful trip to Oshkosh. Here is a link to many pictures of the B-17 Tour http://www.cpuchip.net/EAAB17TOUR.html

A couple of updates on the hangar. Kenny has finished the Connie except for a couple of smaller Tiger Airplanes he is going to paint on the ramp area. I added a runway when you come in the door.
A great addition. I added a small Napoleon wood burning fire place by my desk on the main hangar floor. It is amazing how much heat it puts out and the hangar stays warm. The weather has been real cold here, in the teens. The fire is nice and cheery on these long cold nights.
It has an extremely long stove pipe due to the height of the hangar but it seems to do two very pleasant things. One it draws very well and the long pipe seems to serve a a heat tube and warms the entire hangar, the gas has not kicked on once tonight. The wood heat is very pleasant.
Mark our outgoing EAA Chapter VP. I have really enjoyed working with him. A dedicated and hard working volunteer
