The 610 and 614
roughed out and drilled. One of the things that is helping
me a lot and especially right now as the book is a little
thin. The secret stuff is on a Video by George and Becki
Orndorff. It is a really great video and shows some
wonderful tips. You can call them at (940) 648-0841. Their
address is: 15647Cessna Road
Justin, Texas 76247
Website is at http://www.fly-gbi.com/
They also have classes and
many other goodies, I would really like to go to one of the
classes after watching their video, they really know what
they are doing and are very helpful if you call them.

My first experience
with snips trimming the flange on the forward spar. Watching
the Orndorff's video on basic sheet metal told how to make
the cuts Don't try to cut along your line on the first cut,
start wide of the line then making increasingly smaller
cuts. Here is where you learn the difference in the red and
green handle snips. The metal will curl forward. By
the last cut I felt confident in cutting metal, it is
fairly easy if you take your time and make small cuts. |

| I broke down and
bought a drafting table and a good light to put the plans
on. It helped in seeing things I had not seen before by
looking at the plans under good light. Unfortunate that wife
just came into shop and saw it and resumed questions on
spending. |

Spar disassembled,
deburred and prepped, I found a deal on the large roll of
masking paper in the foreground and I like to start all my
paint project on a clean piece of paper taped to my paint
cart, it keeps things
nice clean and the dust from blowing up and facilitates
cleanup by just folding it up and starting over clean each
time. |
