Introduction Here are two small projects designed to give you the
basic skills necessary to make a successful start on the RV of your choice.
The idea is for you to learn and explore, so if the finished project ends up
with various dents, holes and other fumbles...good! It means you haven't
been afraid to try and you are making your "beginners mistakes" here instead
of on the actual airplane. Processes and techniques, like deburring, rolling
leading leading edges, etc, are described in Manual Section 5, as are the
basics of hardware call-outs. Tools, plans reading and nomenclature are
described in Manual Section 3. It is important to read and understand
these basics before you begin. For instance, the plans will not call out
what size hole to drill. Instead they will show what fastener is
installed, and the builder is expected to know what size hole is required. Below is PDF of all the pages from Van's Handout and they will be referred to when
the step uses the information on how to do it. Also there will be a digital
pictures showing the actual building on that step. You will build a couple
of tools and then do a riveting training project and last you will
complete the Aileron Panel Side one of
the plans
