Step 1:  Note: this section describes the installation of the landing light and the position/strobe light in the left wing tip

Step 1: Overlay the VA-194B MR16 Retainer Plate on the VA-194C MR16 Cup as shown in figure !. Remove the material extending beyond the perimeter of the MR-16 retainer Plate shown by the shaded areas.

Step 2: Make two compression Springs by cutting the SPRING .26X2.9 Compression spring in half as shown in Figure 2;

Step 3: Manufacture six mount tubes from AT6-058X5/16, using the dimensions given in Figure 3.

Step 4: Using the template given on page OP36-5 Figure 1, mark the hatched areas and the location of the nut plate screw holes on the chord wise face of the W-1015-L Wing Tip as shown in Figure 4.

Step 5: Align the base of the LN A650-PR-14 Red Position Light and Strobe with the corresponding center marks made kin Step 4, then match-drill #27 each of the three nutplate screw holes into the W-1015-L Wing Tip

NOTE: the outer edge of the W-1032 Landing Light Base Plate has been designed oversize.

Step 6: Center the W-1032 Landing Light Base Plate on the span wise face of the wing tip as shown in Figure 4. Match-Drill #27 each of the three landing light base plate screw holes into the wing tip.

Step 6A:   Mark the profile of the span wise face on the aft side of the landing light base plate, remove the landing light base plate, then trim away the excess material.

Step 7:   Using a MS21051-L06 Nut Plate as a drill guide, match-drill #40 the two forward most sets of nutplate attach holes into the chord wise face of the W-1015-L Wing Tip.

Step 7A: To do the K-1000's I used my nut plate drill guide for this.

Step 8:  Machine countersink the nutplate attach holes for the head of an AN426AD3 rivet flush on outside face

Step 9:   Using the dimensions given in Figure 4, mark out the large, hatched area on the span wise face.

Step 9A:  Remove this hatched area and the hatched areas marked out in Step 4.

Step 1: Rivet the nutplate to the W-1015-L Wing Tip as shown in Figure 1.

Step 2:To protect the W-1015-L Wing Tip. add a six inch wide patch of EA EXHST/COWL Shield material to the approximate area shown in Figure 1.

Step 3: Final-Drill #27 the three screw holes and final-drill #40 the nutplate attach holes in the VA-194C Cup. See Figure 2.

Step 4: Machine countersink the nutplate attach holes (flush on the forward face) in the VA-194C MR16 Cup for the head of an AN426AD3 rivet. Deburr the holes and edges of the MR16 cup. Prime the MR16 cup if desired.

Step 5: Rivet nutplate to the VA-194C Cup as shown in Figure 2.

Step 6: Final-Drill #27 the three screw holes in the VA-194B MR16 Retainer Plate, Final-Drill 5/32 diameter the screw holes in the W-1032 Landing Light Base Plate.

Step 7:  Deburr the holes and edges on both the VA-194B  MR16 Retainer Plate and the W-1032 Landing Light Base Plate. Prime these these parts if desired.

Step 8: Assemble the Landing Light Subassembly using the parts and hardware shown in Figure 3.

Step 9: Attach the Landing Light Subassembly to the W-1015-L Wing Tip as shown in Figure 4.

Step 10:   Remove the vinyl from the forward face of the LC MR16 2 Pin Disk Socket. Attach the 2 pin disk socket to the LC EYF MR16 Narrow Beam Bulb as shown in Figure 4. Ground one wire to the aircraft frame and connect the other to +12V. Leave enough slack in these wires to allow the W-1015-L Wing Tip to be removed easily.

Step 1:   Attach the base plate for the LN A650-PR-14 Red Position Light and Strobe to the W-1015-L Wing Tip using the hardware called out in Figure 1.

Note Leave enough slack in the wires to allow the LN A650-PR-14 Red Position Light and Strobe to be removed and the wire connectors to be pulled through the W-1015-L Wing Tip to be disconnected.

Step 2: Connect the wires coming out of the LN A650-PR-14 Red Position Light and Strobe using the instructions provided from the Whelan

Step 3: Reinstall the W-1-15-L Wing TIp to the wing. Reinstall the Wing Tip Light lens.
